Katie plays and teaches the violin and viola. She enjoys performing both modern and historical classical repertoire and can often be found in the violin section of many of our top orchestras. Katie is also known as a fine soprano singer.
Orlin Dimitrov is a teacher, performer and music producer. MMus graduate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Orlin teaches violin, piano and music technology classes in schools across Islington. He also directs Hargrave Park & Canonbury Music Centres as part of his work for ArtsFirst.His concert career has taken him to various countries in Europe. He is also a member of the Pizzetti piano trio with whom he has given numerous recitals throughout the UK.
Fliss teaches clarinet and flute to large classes in Islington primary schools. She graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire in 2007 and spent three years travelling worldwide as a show band musician for P&O and Celebrity Cruises. Fliss says "Islington schools are a great place to be, full of enthusiastic students and staff alike. I feel privileged to be able to introduce pupils to instruments they have little knowledge of and watch them progress throughout the year." www.flissgorst.com
In addition to teaching guitar and recorder, Jason is the leader of the Arts First Rock School. He is also an accomplished bass player and can regularly be found performing at top venues across the UK.
Tara has worked in Education since 2003. With a PGCE from Homerton, Cambridge and more recently an MMus in Leadership from Guildhall School of Music, she now works freelance and leads creative projects in composition, percussion, strings and vocal work. She works for organisations including , Barbican, Aldeburgh Music, Royal Opera House and in collaboration with the Vortex Jazz Club.
Luiz teaches guitar and ukulele to groups and individuals in a number of London schools, both in the state and private sector. He was born in Brazil and has lived and worked in London since 1988. He has played guitar in many jazz and Brazilian groups and also with pop/rock artists such as Kirsty MacColl. In addition to teaching music, he composes library music for commercial use and is developing guitar music to use in his groups.
Kathryn James studied violin at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and graduated with a Masters in performance. Kathryn has performed with the following orchestras; Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Welsh National Opera Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and has worked with artists such as Lionel Richie, Razorlight, Unkle, Shirley Bassey, Will Young, Bryn Terfel and Andrea Bocelli.
